In a trance Pliny of Blem once named all of the gods, and challenged any power which he did not name to strike him dead. After living for many healthy decades following this decree, scholars agree his list is, if not complete, at least very useful - although the order of his list remains somewhat mysterious.

  1. The Laughing God
  2. King of Elemental Earth
  3. Heron
  4. She-Who-Lurks, the Webweaver
  5. The Dark Lady
  6. Pyros, the King of Elemental Fire
  7. The King of Elemental Water
  8. Boreas, the Northern Wind, Mother of Monsoons
  9. The Hundred Hecatoncheires of the Savage Moon
  10. Heradus
  11. The Wheel
  12. Winter, the Master of Murder
  13. The Walking God
  14. Tuvok
  15. The Crying God
  16. Notus, the Treacherous Wind
  17. Zephyrus, Death Gasp of the Fates
  18. Siphos
  19. Ministers of the Realm Ephemeral
  20. Sol, the Tyrant Sun
  21. Eurus, the Demiurge, the Eastern Wind of Chaos
  22. Set, the Ancient Serpent

Interestingly Pliny predicted the existence of the Wheel, the god of New Lankh, long before its arrival. It is for this reason that other divinities on his list, which correspond to no known gods of the current age, are not believed to be simple mistakes. Such mysteries are rendered in italics. Others contend that while his list is complete, it is misleading, claiming that the Walking, Crying, and Laughing Gods are the same divinity named multiple times.

Of these only the Winds, Sol, She-Who-Lurks, and the Walking God are widely celebrated by most peoples of the Shrinelands. The others perhaps being more regional, hidden, or subtle in nature.

Almost all agree that the Eastern Wind is the most powerful, and enigmatic, of all the gods, but despite having the potency of the pantokrator seems little interested in lordship over the other powers. Much more homage is paid to Boreas, for vital crops, to the Walking God, for protection during travel, and the other major Festivals.

Notus, the Southern Wind

Brings sandstorms from the warm places, and a dry and treacherous season.

The Hundred Handed

Spirits of war and terror which dwell on the Red Moon.
