The caster initiates a mental duel with the target. So long as the caster maintains concentration and is able to see the target the duel continues at the speed of thought. For each round of traditional combat three mental rounds occur, during which mental attacks may be made at d20 + Thaumaturgy + Intelligence modifier against the subject’s spiritual Armor Class. Successful attacks inflict 1d6 + Water mental damage.
The target may contest the caster similarly, or may continue to participate in mundane battle. Target’s who continue to act physically may still make a single mental attack against the caster each turn as a subconscious reaction, or may attempt a mental save to end the duel. Full: duel ends, Partial: duel ends but the caster may make two free mental attacks, failure: duel continues and the subject suffers double damage next mental round.
