Each Kindling of the Soul is an expression of inner, personal power, and must be tailored by the caster to their unique nature. This process of personal reflection requires at least a season; during which choose one skill, one saving throw, and one ability score.
Finally, in a decisive moment the initiate casts the ritual. Declaring their drive for personal power outside the limitations of fate or gods; and opening their soul to the primal flame.
- Roll a DC 12 skill check using the chosen skill in the form of a personal challenge - failure burns away 1d6 training points from the chosen skill
- Roll the saving throw as the flames consume you - failure applies a permanent -1 penalty to this save
- Roll 1d20 as fire assaults you - if this number exceeds your ability score then it is reduced by 1
If at least one of these rolls succeeds then the caster has their potency in Fire increased by 1, but not over their normal maximum.
