High Holy Days
- 12th of Law Season: Triumph of Asterion - during this day a great feast is held along with the largest of the Labyrinth Games. On this day all who defend their home gain a +2 attack bonus
Minor Holy Days
- 12th of Monsoon, Chaos, and Dry Seasons - each of these days a lesser Labyrinth Game is held, and is considered an auspicious occasion to train for battle.
Cult of Mighty Asterion
Cult Activities
Labyrinth Games
On each of the holy days of Asterion the cult hosts a Labyrinth Game. During these a stone maze is constructed to hold a number of cultic treasures, and defended by both current members and the spirits of deceased members. All are welcome to participate, and most events are conducted with a spirit of fun and camaraderie.
Those seeking Master level membership must find at least one of the relics of Asterion as proof of their commitment. However, there is also a deeper secret. Far below the public labyrinth is a greater maze in which is hidden Asterion’s own Ax of Rulership. It is only on this day that the ax becomes vulnerable, and the greatest of the god’s protections are devoted to this. A seeker who enters this lower level will not find a festival-day game, but rather the deadly ire of the cult’s most seasoned warriors.
Members of the Cult of Mighty Asterion
Lay Members
- 50 coin per year membership
- Must attend at least one function per year
- Swear to defend Hapolis in times of need
Many citizens of Hapolis are lay members of the Cult of Mighty Asterion. This forms a loose militia should the city need defending, but otherwise is a large social club. Non-citizens are permitted membership at this level, although the prohibition against weapons atop the acropolis makes this somewhat complicated.
Initiation only requires payment of the membership fee, vouching from a member of at least initiate status, and participation in one of the Labyrinth Games.
